Company History

Established in March of 1985 by two brothers, Arnie and Danny Klein and their sons Jeff and Kris, Classic has emerged as one of the world’s largest broad line stocking distributors of electronic components by bringing together the experience and expertise of a diverse group of individuals to forge a company of the utmost integrity with an adherence and dedication to quality and customer service.

The Beginning

From its humble beginnings in a 50,000 square foot facility in Gardena, California, Classic was already being recognized as a pioneer in the electronic components industry. Their acquisition and consummation of large excess inventory purchases from major manufacturers propelled them into a continually expanding and strong financial position as their business grew.

The special skills and technology needed to fill the manufacturers’ requirements were only available to the best-capitalized companies. Classic was able to attain this with a very solid Dun and Bradstreet 5A1 rating. It allowed Classic to strengthen its position in the marketplace, increase its customer base, and improve penetration of key markets. Sales into many industry sectors were growing larger, from government institutions and the military, to telecommunications and industrial/electromechanical sectors.

Worldwide Growth

With 15 global locations and 240+ employees, 100 in the U.S. and 140+ globally, Classic is poised for expanded growth. The company has a very broad spectrum of product and clientele. Stocking electronic components from over 800 manufacturers and 40 million line items of product, an abundant on-shelf inventory and a significant customer base. This depth positions Classic to progress further into the millennium as one of the largest and best independent electronic component distributors.

Classic and its people have helped redefine the meaning of performance. The firm has continually broken new ground with superior customer service with abundant on-the-shelf inventory, forging strong relationships with their customers who have come to rely and depend on them for their ongoing electronic component needs.
