At Classic, we pride ourselves in not only keeping up with counterfeiting trends but pioneering innovation in our industry. We are proud to be among the first ‘Independent Distributors’ to create an engineering focused ‘research and development’ department producing real results to support our already sophisticated and advanced supply chain management practice.
Our continuing investment in engineering, technology and human resources gives us a unique advantage in combating the rapidly evolving counterfeit and sub-standard product proliferators in our industry. As a result of our continual commitment to quality and expansion of capabilities, Classic has evolved into a leading Independent Distributor, supplying the world’s largest companies in the electronics industry.
Classic Components maintains one of the most comprehensive product incoming inspection & testing programs in the industry for part authentication and substandard mitigation. We utilize our ISO 9001 & AS9120B certified quality inspection checklist to conduct an ‘up to 78 point’ incoming material receiving process, employing industry standard sampling plans for internal test and verification purposes. In addition to rigorously and systematically inspecting orders, from the outside package to conducting detailed component-level analyses using our process, we offer unrivaled escalated quality inspection reports and our very own in-house electrical test and engineering services.
At Classic, our objective is simple: develop a counterfeit mitigation strategy for our customers capable of eliminating risks to their supply chain. The result: our Classic Semiconductor Investigation Program (CSI). Leveraging decades of collective industry knowledge, we adopt the same principles of forensic science that are used by law enforcement agencies to investigate criminal enterprises, transforming our incoming inspection process into a robust, proactive, and decisive material quality investigation capable of managing risks to your supply chain so that you won’t have to. See what “The CSI Difference” can do for you.
Ever since the organization known as the ‘Independent Distributors of Electronics Associations’, or IDEA, released their first inspection standard, IDEA-STD-1010A, specific to independent distribution in early October of 2006, there have been many evolutionary as well as supplementary developments in counterfeit avoidance, mitigation and detection processes. Significant industry milestones include CTI’s CCAP-101 (released in 2008), the SAE AS5553 (released in 2009) and the significant changes brought about by revision B of the aforementioned IDEA 1010A inspection standard (released in 2011).
With our Strategic Certified Inspection & Test Hubs, Classic can more efficiently support customer material requirements on a global scale by avoiding costly delays and shipping freight charges associated with having only one centralized inspection point. More leading manufacturers throughout the world have turned to Classic for their material support needs.
As a leader in the electronic components distribution industry, Classic prides itself on being an active member of leading third party industry affiliations. We are committed to cultivating a positive impact for the future, and report to leading organizations such as ERAI, GIDEP, and OASIS.
