The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition® (EICC®) Code of Conduct establishes standards to ensure that working conditions in the electronics industry supply chain are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that business operations are environmentally responsible and conducted ethically.
REACH Policy
The Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) is a regulation of the European Union, adopted on June 1, 2007 to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests on animals.
RoHS Compliant
Classic Components affirms and certifies that we do NOT add any RoHS materials or subject the electrical components to any RoHS manufacturing processes during the administration of our distribution activities.

Tariff Policy
As of July 6th, 2018, USTR Action 301 went into effect. As a result, certain components that Classic buys and sells will have an additional 25% tariff imposed upon them at the time they are imported into the United States.

Your Responsibilities

As always, every position comes with certain responsibilities. Those that are attached to your new position with our team shouldn’t scare you though. The primary responsibilities of an Account Manager are to grow and develop customer relationships and perform customer care functions that satisfy implicit needs. Account Managers are responsible for meeting monthly sales goals, while maintaining the company’s vision and values. Your time will be primarily spent customer facing, with the majority of this being phone centric. You will be provided access to our massive, yet open customer database, but of course be expected to have and grow your own business as well. All purchasing needs will be provided by our in-house procurement community, although your understanding of product, pricing and supply chain dynamics will be necessary. Similarly, all QC needs will be provided by our internal quality department, which exceeds industry requirements, certifications and standards. Your understanding of and respect for quality processes are a must as well.

Experience, Education, and Skills

  • Account Managers must have a minimum of five years of experience in a direct sales role. Of that, we prefer at least two years of experience in the electronic component distribution industry, and at least two years experience working with sales technology.
  • Should you be a unique salesperson with proven success, we will entertain your submission despite a lack of industry experience.
  • Priority consideration will be given to candidates that possess substantial industry contacts and/or deep industry experience.
  • A college degree in a business related field is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. No drama or prima donna behavior or attitude please. We’re looking for mature adults.
  • Must be a strong communicator, with a compelling and engaging phone presence.
  • Ability to work with strong personalities in a collaborative manner while in a dynamic work environment.
  • Bring a daily strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes

Established in March of 1985 by two brothers, Arnie and Danny Klein with their sons Jeff and Kris, Classic Components has emerged as one of the world’s largest broad line stocking distributors of electronic components by bringing together the experience and expertise of a diverse group of individuals to forge a company of the utmost integrity and dedication to quality and customer service.

From our humble beginnings in a 50,000 square foot facility in Gardena, California, Classic was recognized as a pioneer in the electronic components industry. Acquisition and distribution of large excess inventory purchases from major manufacturers propelled us into a continual growth while maintaining a strong financial position. Classic earned a very solid Dun and Bradstreet 5A1 rating, which allowed us to strengthen our position in the marketplace, increase customer base, and improve penetration of key markets.

With 12 global locations and 240+ employees, Classic is well positioned for the challenges of the ever-changing electronics industry. Access to electronic components from over 800 manufacturers and 40 million line-items of product, an abundant on-shelf inventory and a broad customer base position Classic as one of the largest and most stable electronic component distributors.

Our Classic staff has redefined the meaning of performance in the independent space. We strive to provide continuously improving quality and reliability in all aspects of supply chain. Management Team

Jeff Klein, CEO/President

For over a quarter century Jeff Klein has been the driving force behind Classic Component’s evolution and success. Jeff was instrumental in establishing Classic as a leader/innovator in the independent electronic components distribution channel and is viewed by many in the business as one of the primary pioneers of the industry.

Jeff is responsible for defining the overall corporate vision and strategy for Classic Components and remains very active in all aspects of the business today.

Kris Klein, COO

As one of the founders of Classic Components Corporation, Kris brings over 25 years of experience to the organization in all aspects of the business from technical assets, facilities, and IT infrastructure, to marketing and electronics industry expertise. His varied skill set has enabled Kris to assist with guiding Classic through the many changes in the electronics supply chain and market conditions.

Kris is responsible for the day-to-day management of Classic Component’s operations and quality management organization

Mike Thomas, Vice President, Global General Manager

Mike joined Classic Components in 1992 as a senior representative. After several years of successful account development and sales revenue, he designed, developed and implemented Classic’s Global Account Management Program. As a GAM, Mike was a hands-on contributor to many other programs and processes over the years.

As of April 2013, Mike has been promoted to the position of Global General Manager. Mike will be overseeing all aspects of Classic’s business with an aggressive focus on expanding Classic’s global market presence.

Daniel Lee, Director Technology & Operations

Daniel Lee is the Director of Technology and Operations at Classic Components Corporation in Torrance, California. His 9 year tenure as the former Director of IT brought forth many important changes to the internal structure of Classic’s technology operations. Daniel’s time as Director of Technology and Operations has seen Classic achieve the rigorous AS9120 certification through an ANAB accredited registrar at both their HQ and Hong Kong locations.

Daniel’s goal is to continue implementing best engineering practices to ensure efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness while fostering innovation to increase capability. Emphasis will be made on continued education and analysis of ‘real-world’ data to debunk ‘industry hype’ and avoid investment in unproven or even irrelevant ‘systems’ (i.e. equipment or practice).
